Design Differences: Marine electrical equipment is designed with the specific operating environment and safety requirements of ships in mind. Therefore, it typically employs a more compact and robust structure to withstand the vibrations, shocks, and turbulence that ships may encounter during navigation. In contrast, conventional electrical equipment prioritizes convenience and aesthetics in its design, resulting in a relatively simpler structure.

Different Operating Environments: Marine electrical equipment needs to operate stably for extended periods in harsh environments such as humidity, salt spray, and oil mist. Therefore, it must possess excellent corrosion resistance, water resistance, and dustproofing properties. Conventional electrical equipment, on the other hand, is primarily used in relatively dry and clean land environments, with lower requirements for water and dust resistance.

Differences in Safety Standards: Due to the various complex safety risks that ships may face during navigation, marine electrical equipment must meet more stringent safety standards. These standards include aspects such as the insulation performance, overload protection, and grounding protection of the electrical equipment. While conventional electrical equipment also needs to meet certain safety standards, the requirements are relatively more lenient.

Special Power Supply and Voltage: Ships typically use DC power or AC power of a specific frequency, while conventional electrical equipment mainly uses AC power of a standard frequency. Furthermore, the voltage levels of marine electrical equipment may differ from those of ordinary electrical equipment. These unique characteristics necessitate greater care and precision in the design and use of marine electrical equipment.

In summary, marine electrical equipment differs significantly from ordinary electrical equipment in terms of design, operating environment, safety standards, and power supply voltage. These differences make each play an irreplaceable role in its respective application field.
