Better shackles are generally made of alloy steel, a departure from the use of ordinary carbon steel. National standard shackles include general lifting shackles, marine shackles, and ordinary shackles. They are heavier and larger, and are generally not installed in locations where they are not frequently disassembled. When selecting shackles, pay attention to the safety factor, which is typically 4, 6, or 8 times.
When using shackles, always strictly adhere to the rated load; excessively frequent use and overloading are not permitted.
